It is frequently repeated in the final rak'ah of the Witr prayer, which is a prevalent practise in various Islamic traditions. In the final rak'ah of the Witr Salat, Dua Qunoot is recited befoe the ruku' (bowing) and sajood.
Placement of Dua Qunoot
Dua Qunoot
is recited before the ruku', which is the bowing position in the last rak'ah of
Witr Salah. In the last rakat of witr, after reciting surah Fatiha and one
other Surah, one should recites dua e qanoot. After that go to raku and rising from the bowing position, the worshiper
says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah"
O Allah ! we invoke you for help and beg for forgiveness, and believe in you and have trust in you and we praise you, in the best way we can; and we thank you and we are not unrecognized to you, and we renounce and turn away from the one who disobeys you.
O Allah ! you alone, we do worship and pray exclusively to you and bow before you alone, and we hasten eagerly towards you, and we fear Your severe punishment and hope for your mercy, and we dread your torment. Indeed, the disbelievers shall incur your suffering.”
If one cannot remember dua Qanoot , he can recite another Dua Like
رَبَّنَآ اٰتِنَا فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِى الْاٰخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
‘Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.’
