Astaghfirullah means to seeking the forgiveness from ALLAH Almighty.

The best and important practice in islam is reciting Astaghfiruallah or Istighfar.. This is the way to ask for forgiveness from Allah Ta'ala. The meaning of Astaghfirullah is, "I need forgiveness from Allah Almighty." If so, we can improve our faith by asking for forgiveness for our everything, every mistakes, each faults, andall  bad deeds.

By saying Astaghfirullah, a person realizes his mistakes and makes an intention not to commit such mistakes in the future. This is how a person's faith becomes more strong and his relationship becomes more closer  with Allah Almighty . This practice gives happiness and spirituality calm in human life. That's why every Muslim should understand the importance of Astaghfirullah and should recite every morning and evening atleast 100 time  to get the benefits of making his life better and to get miracles in life. Many benefits of Astaghfirullah have been described from the Quran and Hadith, out of which I am trying tomention a few in this article.


Benefits of Astaghfirullah

  • A person who recites Astaghfirullah will be blessed in his sustenance and Allah will make his means of sustenance from places where he cannot even imagine.
  • By reciting Astaghfirullah, Allah grants a person good children and makes the children good so that charity can continue for him.
  • A person who always recites Astaghfirullah gets rid of poverty, worry and hunger
  • All kinds of diseases are removed from the person who recites Astaghfirullah
  • In the house where Astaghfirullah is recited, there is good and blessings flows in this house
  • By always reciting Astaghfirullah, problems are removed and Allah creates ease
  • There are miracles in the life of a person who recites Astaghfirullah and every supplication he asks is accepted
  • Allah gives good children to a person who recites Astaghfirullah, if he is childless, and if he is sick, Allah always heals him.

I Seek forgiveness from Allah
 
أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبي مِنْ كُلِ ذَنبٍ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ

(I seek the forgiveness of Allah, there is no true god except Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self- Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance),’


Some Hadith are describes about Power of Astaghfirullah or Istighfar

1-

 ‏سبحان الله وبحمده، أستغفر الله، وأتوب إليه

(Allah is free from imperfection, and I begin with praising Him. I beg forgiveness from Allah and I turn to Him in repentance.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ لِيَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ النَّهَارِ ، وَيَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ بِالنَّهَارِ لِيَتُوبَ مُسِيءُ اللَّيْلِ ، حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا "

Urdu Transaltion

سیدنا ابو موسٰی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بیشک اللہ عزت اور بزرگی والا اپنا ہاتھ پھیلاتا ہے رات کو تاکہ دن کا گنہگار توبہ کرے اور ہاتھ پھیلاتا ہے دن کو تاکہ رات کا گنہگار توبہ کرے یہاں تک کہ آفتاب نکلے پچھم سے۔ 

English Translation

On the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him,

the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

"Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, extends His hand at night so that the sinner of the day repents,

 and extends His hand during the day so that the sinner of the night repents." Even the sun rises from the west.

وعن حضرة ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من لزم الاستغفار، فرج الله عنه كل هم، وفرج عنه كل هم». ورزقه من مكان كهذا، ومن
حيث لا يكون له أي وهم

حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: جس آدمی نے استغفار کو لازم کرلیا اللہ تعالیٰ اس کو ہرتنگی سےکال دیں گے، اس کے ہر غم کو دور کرگیدینگے اور اس کو ایسی جگہ سے رزق عطا فرمائیں گے جہاں سے اس کو وہم و گمان بھی نہ ہوگا۔

English translation

On the authority of Hazrat Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him,

the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

 “Whoever makes Istighfar necessary, Allah will remove him from every hardship,

remove every sorrow from him, and grant him sustenance from such a place.” From where he will not have any illusions.

4-

رب اغفر لي، وتب على إنك أنت التواب الرحيم”‏”‏”

 English translation

(My Rab! Forgive me and pardon me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning with compassion and Ever Merciful.” (Riyadu-s Saliheen)

5-

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏: ‏ سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول “والله إني لأستغفر الله وأتوب إليه في اليوم أكثر من سبعين مرة‏”‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)


English Translation

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, “I swear by Allah that I seek Allah’s Pardon and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.” [Al-Bukhari].


ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: ”میں اللہ کی قسم کھا کر کہتا ہوں کہ میں دن میں ستر مرتبہ سے زیادہ اللہ سے استغفار کرتا ہوں اور اس کی طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں۔ [البخاری]

This is most beautiful dua and Syadulastaghfar which has greatest impact for reader life.

.   اللهم أنت ربي، لا إله إلا أنت ، خلقتني وأنا عبدك، وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استطعت أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعت أبوء لك بنعمتك علي، وأبوء بذنبي، فاغفر لي فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت

English translation

 (O Allah! You are my Rab. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon).”
